Welcome

This website is my way of sharing the highlights of my singing and teaching career, and it grows as I do - a kind of professional, web-based portfolio. Of course, I would prefer to sing for you in person or invite you to observe my teaching, but this is not always easy or practical to do. My hope is to give you a sense not only of my qualifications but also of my passion for singing and teaching. Thanks for visiting!

Highlights of my site

I hope you will view my Opera Workshop handbook on the documents page. This 58-page document is a complete curriculum design for that class and conveys many of my deeply held beliefs about the art of singing and the teaching of that art. I am currently working on a similar handbook for lyric diction. From the handbook: “…I view the class…not only as a tool to address the other side of the singer-actor coin, but also as a place where students’ good citizenship training in the classroom can lead to their becoming more productive members of their larger communities.”

Of course, I was a singer long before I began teaching, and performing remains an important part of my life. A few years ago I collaborated with a local WWII veteran and author for a Veteran's Day concert we called "Songs and Memories of War." You can find clips and the program from that event on the Audio and Video page.
